Brian Annandono

Brian Annandono is a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant with 23 years of experience in insurance, claims, and settlement consulting.       

Brian assists plaintiff attorneys, insurance carriers, and self-insured corporations negotiate and settle personal injury and workers’ compensation matters.  During the settlement process, Brian focuses on helping plaintiffs design flexible, comprehensive settlement plans to establish a solid post-settlement financial foundation.  Brian has extensive experience helping clients protect eligibility for governmental benefits and resolving cases that involve the Medicare Secondary Payer statute.

Prior to his work as a settlement consultant, Brian worked for several insurance companies – as a claims handler and claims manager – managing litigation and settling catastrophic injury cases.  

Brian graduated cum laude from Hiram College in Ohio, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  He received his Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the National Structured Settlements Trade Association at the University of Notre Dame. Brian is an active member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association and is former co-chair of the association’s Marketing Committee.

Bill Bergs

Bill Bergs is a structured settlement consultant formerly associated with Galaher Settlements and Insurance Services, Inc. He has been engaged in the structured settlement business since 2003 following an insurance claims career that included senior claim officer positions with several prominent insurance carriers and TPA's, including Continental Insurance Company (Vice President), GAB Business Services (President and Chief Operating Officer), and AIG Claims Services, (Executive Vice President).

Bill has published articles relating to the settlement of Disability Insurance claims utilizing annuities and other life insurance products. He currently specializes in the structures of large Worker's Compensation settlements, and all areas of third party liability settlements.

Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University and a Juris Doctor degree from Northern Illinois University. He currently reside in Naples, FL.

Jennifer Blanzy

Jennifer I. Blanzy, MSW, CSW, is a structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. with the company's Detroit office.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Michigan State University, Ms. Blanzy received her masters in social work from Wayne State University in Detroit. Over a period of ten years, Ms. Blanzy was a counselor / therapist to patients that suffered a personal injury, including substance abusers, the terminally ill, closed head injury patients, quadriplegics, and other catastrophically injured persons. While in this capacity, she developed life care plans and determined future medical needs.  In 1991, she joined Structured Financial Associates, Inc.

Ms. Blanzy is a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association, a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and an active member of the Michigan Society of Hospital Risk Managers.

Cassie Brewster Barkett

Cassie Brewster Barkett began her insurance career in 2012, bringing with her extensive experience as a trial lawyer. Cassie’s practice consisted of both civil and criminal law, focused primarily on complex civil litigation, including wrongful death, products liability, and personal and catastrophic injury. She discontinued her active practice to raise a family, returning to the courtroom periodically and assisting counsel for various hearings and jury trials. 

From 2005-2011, Cassie served a 6 year Governor appointed term on the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, serving as both Secretary and Vice- Chair of the Commission. Additionally, Cassie is active in Tulsa community service, including chairing a myriad of local non-profit fundraisers and serving as President of the Junior League of Tulsa from 2010-2011. 

Cassie holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas Christian University and a Juris Doctor, Order of Curule Chair, from the University of Tulsa. Cassie is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM). She enjoys spending time with her husband Michael, also a trial lawyer, and three daughters, Zoe, Edee, and Sunny.

Phillip Brown

Phillip J. Brown, CSSC is a structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. and manages the Company's Tulsa, Oklahoma office.

Phil has nearly 32 years experience in financial services with 25 years in structured settlements.  A National Structured Settlements Trade Association member, Phil is also a member of the Oklahoma and Tulsa Claims Associations.  After earning a BS degree at Oklahoma City University, Phil attended The University of Tulsa's College of Law.  Phil offers leading-edge proprietary products and strategies through SFA, Inc. that other brokerages do not have.

He is privileged to serve home office claims professionals, risk managers and counsel of nationally-prominent self-insured entities, casualty insurers, their excess carriers and reinsurers. He has vast experience in resolving large losses nationwide. His clients include railway companies, energy companies, hospitals, public entities, third-party administrators, and law firms.

Developing effective settlement strategies, designing periodic payment proposals to address and mitigate damages, and employing special needs trusts and other tools to provide integrity of result, are methods he uses to close files productively.  Phil is excited to offer products and services through Structured Financial Associates that other consultants do not have available.

Richard Buice

Richard Buice is a Structured Settlement Specialist for the Southern California office of Structured Financial Associates, Inc.  

After serving in the United States Navy, Richard went to work for Wausau Insurance Company as an outside field adjuster in 1966 and remained there until 1977.   While at Wausau, Richard advanced to the position of Workers Compensation Unit Claim Manager.

After Wausau, Richard joined Marsh McLennan, and was instrumental in creating and organizing Marsh McLennan Self-Insurance Services.  Richard spent five years at MMSIS as the Claim Manager for Southern California.

Following MMSIS, Richard became a life insurance salesperson for Mass Mutual which led to his entering the structured settlement business in 1986 by co-founding Settlement Associates & Insurance Services.   He joined SFA in 2004.

Richard has been very happily married to Andrea for 46 years.  They have two children, Jeff and Caryl, and three grandchildren.  

In his free time, Richard is very active in his church where he sings in the choir and he recently joined South Country Sound, a chapter of the Barbershop Society.  Richard also enjoys bicycle riding and collecting toy cars.

Richard has an Associate of Arts degree from Laney College.

Christy Carrone

Christy M. Carone is a Structured Settlement Consultant in the Plantation, Florida office specializing in general liability, medical malpractice, commercial liability, and workers’ compensation claims.

Her responsibilities include attending settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and other hearings designed to resolve claims. Christy regularly meets with clients, attorneys, and injured parties to review information and produce structured settlement plans that are meaningful to settlement negotiations. In addition, she provides structured settlement training, performs file reviews, and participates in seminars regarding the use and benefits of structured settlements. 

Christy has been in the structured settlement industry since January 2000 when she began her career with Black, Holcomb, Smith & Associates in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Prior to becoming a Structured Settlement Specialist, Christy was a litigation paralegal for nine years and brings this valuable experience with her to the structured settlement industry.

Ron Carroll

Ronald E. Carroll, ARM, CIH, CSP, CSSC, is a Structured Settlement Specialist and manages the Company’s Winter Park (Orlando), Florida office.  He has over 25 years experience as a structured settlement broker servicing Florida and the Southeast as well as other areas throughout the country.  His specialties include medical malpractice, workers’ compensation and non-physical injury claims.

Ron’s business experience includes working in the aerospace industry, environmental consulting area as well as over 30 years in the insurance and risk management business including over 25 years in structured settlements. He is currently a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA).

William Easton Jr.

William S. Easton, Jr. is a structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc.’s Atlanta Office. 

Bill’s business experience includes 21 years as a casualty claims professional in auto general liability and litigation claims for SAFECO, Leader National, Reliance and most recently Fireman’s Fund. At Fireman’s Fund, Bill was regularly a top producer of structured settlements. 

Bill earned a B.S. degree from Duke University and holds the CPCU, ARM, AIM, ARP and Program in Supervisory Management designations. Bill is a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association. Bill enjoys playing golf and training in self-defense martial arts in his leisure time and he has an adult son, Will.

Pauline Fay

Pauline Fay is a Structured Settlement Consultant with the New Mexico office of Structured Financial Associates in Albuquerque. She has spent 30 years in insurance, specializing in structured settlements for the last 16 years. Her areas of expertise are in general liability and workers’ compensation to include Medicare Set-Asides. All documents are prepared in her office, allowing for a quick turnaround.

She began her banking and insurance career in England and continued in those areas after moving to the United States. Bill has been a structured settlement specialist for 20 years. He also has 15 years claims experience as a claims professional for Home, Hanover and Liberty Mutual Insurance Companies.

Bill's experience as a structured settlement specialist includes General Liability, Products, Medical Malpractice, Wrongful Death, Auto and Workers Compensation on a national basis.

Bill earned a B.A. degree from the University of Illinois in 1974 and his CPCU and Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designations in 1990 and 1994 respectively. Bill is also a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association.

Justin Giorgetti

Justin Giorgetti is a Settlement Specialist located in Long Island, New York, which is headed by Raymond Giorgetti. Justin has been with SFA since February of 2005 and has worked on more than 1,000 Structured Settlements.  Most notably, Justin was instrumental in putting together complex structured settlement plans on over 100 E-coli outbreak cases that were settled in 2007 & 2008.

Under Raymond Giorgetti’s tutelage Justin has been trained in the damage analysis skills that were more prevalent in the early years of the Structured Settlement industry; 50B analysis, needs analysis and critical analysis of life care plans and economist reports.  Justin can also assist with Kaiser Apportionments on NY death cases.  He has attended countless mediations, settlement conferences, court conferences and trials during his career.   

Justin is a graduate of Hofstra University and he is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA). 

Justin was a chef at Barolo in Melville NY and still enjoys cooking as a hobby.  He is also an avid sports fan and follows all of NY’s major sports teams, especially the Knicks and the Yankees.

Raymond Giorgetti

Raymond Giorgetti is a vice president for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. and the proprietor of the Company's New York – Long Island operation.

Before entering the structured settlement industry in 1985, Ray held liability claims positions with several major insurers (including Royal Globe Insurance Company – Home Office Claims, and Home Insurance Company - Excess Claims). Considered by many to be an expert in future damage analysis, Ray specializes in cases where New York State periodic payment statutes apply (CPLR Articles 50A for Medical/Dental Malpractice and CPLR Article 50B for all other liability cases). 

A current member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, Ray has placed several thousand structured settlements during his career. Ray received his B.A. from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York. Ray and his wife, Nickie, have been married since 1974 and have two children, Justin and Veronica. Justin began working with Ray in 2005.

Rachel Grant-Harrop

Rachel Grant, CSSC, owner of Grant Settlements, LLC, brings 25 years of experience in the structured settlement business, having participated in the resolution of thousands of claims and litigation cases. She specializes in resolution of high-exposure medical malpractice claims, personal injury, products liability, transportation, general liability, and workers’ compensation claims in multiple jurisdictions. She also has extensive experience in workers’ compensation claims, including those that require Medicare Set-Aside Trusts.

A licensed life and health insurance agent, participating in mediations and settlement conferences throughout the country, she also serves on SFA’s Marketing Committee and as its Director of Communication. She is an active member of many industry organizations, such as Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management, where she serves as its Treasurer, the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management, the Council on Litigation Management and The National Structured Settlements Trade Association.

Byron Hays

Byron R. Hays, is a structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. and manages the Company’s Atlanta office. 

Byron has 13 years of claims experience and 26 years experience in the structured settlement industry. He is a current member of the Atlanta Claims Association, the Aviation Insurance Association, the Trucking Insurance Defense Association (TIDA), and National Structured Settlement Trade Association. Byron received his B.B.A. from West Georgia College and his J.D. from John Marshall Law School.

Michael Henwood

Michael Henwood, CSSC, is a Structured Settlement Consultant working in the New York office in Manhattan. He specializes in the areas of medical malpractice, general liability, transportation and marine.

His responsibilities include developing settlement annuity plans and presenting them at mediations, arbitrations and settlement negotiations. Michael applies his structured settlement experience to each case, and develops comprehensive settlement plans for claimants. Kyle Hording

Kyle Hording, J.D., CSSC, is a structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. (SFA), and manages the Company’s Southern California region.

With over 37 years experience in the structured settlement industry, Kyle is regarded as an expert on the use of qualified structured settlements for medical malpractice claims. Kyle specializes in providing detailed economic analysis of life care plans and other claimant loss reports. In the non-qualified arena, Kyle has become a leading industry expert on using tax-deferred structured settlements to resolve employment and business litigation cases.

Kyle received her B.A. from University of Redlands and her law degree from University of La Verne. She earned her Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation at the first class offered by the National Structured Settlement Trade Association in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame’s Executive Education Department. She also holds life, health and disability licenses in multiple states.

An active member of the industry, Kyle is a past president of National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and served on their Board of Directors for five years. Donald Jowers

Donald Jowers is a native Texan and graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. Following graduation, Donald served as a congressional aide to U.S. Congressman Jack Brooks, House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Washington, D.C.  His experience includes work as a legal assistant at Baker Botts, LLP; a financial planner; and the risk management field, as well. Donald joined Asbury Newton in 2008.

Since 1999, Donald has assisted clients with settlement planning and in resolving claims with structured settlements. He has proven experience in personal injury, wrongful death, mass tort, employment discrimination, and complex claims. His experience with government agencies and settlement planning uniquely qualifies him to navigate the complexities of settlements with workers compensation components, Medicare Set Aside Trusts, Social Security, and Medicaid benefits.

Donald is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and holds the Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the NSSTA in conjunction with the University of Notre Dame. Michael Kelly

Michael P. Kelly, CLU, ChFC, MA in Economics, is a founding member of Structured Financial Associates, Inc. and manages the company’s Denver office.

Mike has over 30 years structured settlement experience and seven years experience in life underwriting. He is a member of the Denver Claims Associations, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, The Society of Financial Service Professionals and the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA).

Mike specializes in providing negotiation and litigation support.  His economic specialty was Forensic Economics.  While no longer practicing, he uses that experience to assist his clients by providing a Forensic Economic approach to file review, analysis and settlement negotiations.

Mike did his undergraduate work at the University of Kansas and his CLU and ChFC designations from the American College, and received his M.A. in Economics in 1996 from the University of Colorado.

Mike and his wife, Dr. Dorothy Wysaski, are actively involved in their parish, several charities and show their Bulldogs competitively in national performance dog events. Mike plays senior baseball and is the head coach of a high school baseball team. Mike and Dorothy proudly spend time with their two adult sons and their families.  Michael Jr.is a pharmacist, and Collin, a Project Manager, Analytic Data Development and Delivery for an international hotel chain.

Heather Killebrew

Heather Killebrew began her insurance Career as the dedicated account representative for commercial national accounts, handling high exposure claims across the country. In 1999, Heather answered her calling to assist both sides of the resolution process through structured settlements.

Heather has experience in the structuring many types of claims, including medical malpractice, negligence, product liability, aviation, molestation, professional negligence and attorney fees. In addition, she frequently conducts training seminars and travels extensively to meet with and guide plaintiff and their families through the structured settlement process. Heather has also participated in high profile cases, including the 9/11 claims and the Pan Am/Lockerbie crash.

Heather holds a BA from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA). In her free time, she enjoys skiing with her little boy, floating on her SUP, and facilitates a breast cancer support group.

Walter Kimes

Walter L. Kimes, CLU, CSSC, is a structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc., and manages the Company’s Phoenix Office.

Walt has over 41 years of life underwriting and financial planning experience, including 32 years in structured settlements.  In addition, he worked 8 years in casualty claims. He is a member of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and National Structured Settlements Trade Association.

Walt received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, his CLU designation from American College, became a NASD (Finra) Registered Representative in 1972 and earned his Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the National Structured Settlement Trade Association in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame's Executive Education Program.

Walt is a member of the board of directors of the American Quarter Horse Association.Walt and his wife of 45 years, Peggy, have two children; daughter Deborah, who is a print management account representative, and son Matt, a structured settlement specialist in the SFA Scottsdale Office.

Anna Koehler

Anna Koehler has worked as a structured settlement broker with Structured Financial Associates, Inc. since October, 2012. She partners with her father, Peter Koehler, who has been writing structured settlements since 1982. Together, they have extensive experience as consultants in personal injury litigation specializing in catastrophic injuries that require a thorough medical underwriting process and tailored designs of settlement annuities. They also specialize in non-qualified structured settlements which include: installment sales, divorces and environmental cleanups. 

Anna began her career in structured settlements in 2005 with Allstate Financial’s Structured Settlement department. While with Allstate structured settlements, Anna managed claim and document reviews. She has also worked on Allstate’s sales team where she was a wholesaler of life and annuity products to Allstate agents and financial advisors.

Peter Koehler

Peter V. Koehler joined Structured Financial Associates, Inc. as a Structured Settlement Consultant managing the St. Charles, Illinois office in 2004. 

Peter has been in the structured settlement industry since 1982 and began his career in life insurance and tax planning with the Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1976. He and his father, Vincent W. Koehler, later formed the life insurance brokerage firm Koehler, Koehler & Associates. Peter’s success in estate tax planning and annuities allowed him the opportunity to enter the structured settlement arena with various Midwest casualty insurers and the eventual opening of the Chicago office of Settlement Associates & Insurance Services in 1986.

Peter has extensive experience across the country as a consultant in personal injury litigation specializing in catastrophic injuries that require a thorough medical underwriting process, tailored designs of settlement annuities, and attendance at mediations. Peter has strong relationships with traditional casualty clients and non-traditional clients such as Third-Party Administrator’s serving municipalities and self-insured entities.

Peter's daughter, Anna, recently joined him in the SFA St. Charles office as a Structured Settlement Consultant.

Colleen Kreft

Colleen Kreft is a Structured Settlement Consultant in the company’s Denver office since 2002. She assists clients with General Liability, Medical Malpractice, Wrongful Death, Auto and Commercial Lines and Workers' Compensation in the Rocky Mountain Region as well as Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico and Arizona.

Colleen designs customized settlement proposals to meet the financial needs of annuitants and attends settlement conferences and mediations. In addition, she provides file reviews, participates in round table discussions, conducts training seminars and works with clients to ensure settlement documents meet acceptable guidelines.

Randy has 23 continuous years of structured settlement experience previously having worked for 15 years with a major energy company as a regional supervisor of oil and gas lease negotiation covering the Rocky Mountain area. He is a member of the Colorado and Denver Claims Association, the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA) and received his Certified Structured Consultant designation from NSSTA in cooperation with the Notre Dame University Executive Education Department.

Prior to working in the financial services industry, Mahari worked as a committee assistant in the Alabama House of Representatives, a top aide to U.S. Congressman Earl F. Thomas Murtha

Thomas R. Murtha CLU, is a structured settlement specialist and manages Structured Financial Associates' Bridgewater, New Jersey office.

Tom's business experience covers 28 years, the first 10 of which was spent with the Equitable Life Society of the U.S. as a life and health insurance agent. Tom began his career in structured settlements in 1989 as a structured settlement specialist for CalHutt Associates and later became the Vice President and General Manager for that company. He was subsequently affiliated with Settlement Planning Associates and then with Cambridge Galaher Settlement and Insurance Services, Inc. In addition to his long-standing experience in many areas of the structured settlement business, Tom has developed expertise in the handling of medical malpractice and construction risk claims.

Mark W. Narby, Esq., is a structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. and manages the company’s Buffalo, NY office.

Mark has over 10 years of experience in the financial services business, having become a NASD registered representative in 1996.  For the past 5 years Mark has been actively involved in structured settlements.  He is an active member of the Buffalo Claims Association and the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA).

Mark received his B.A. from Fordham University in New York City in 1986.  He was a member of the hockey team for 4 years; his senior year he was the captain and he is among the top 10 career scorers in school history.  Mark received his Juris Doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1989.  He was a litigating attorney for 7 years prior to joining the financial services industry.

Mark Newton

A native of Athens, Georgia, Mark graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Risk Management and Insurance with a concentration in Estate Management.  After graduation, Mark worked for an insurance planning firm based in Atlanta.  In 1994, he founded Asbury Newton.  In 2012, Asbury Newton joined SFA.

Before entering the structured settlement profession, Mark assisted affluent families and senior executives of leading public and private corporations with critical estate, insurance and cash flow planning.  He has been quoted in national publications and is the co-author of a widely published study on annuities.

In addition to his work in financial consulting, Mark founded IRUNURUN (www.irunurun.org).  This software company helps people and organizations achieve their potential drawing on lessons learned from professional athletes and elite military personnel.

Diane Perkins

Diane draws on over 35 years of claims and structured settlement experience. Her experience and knowledge of claims issues and claim management span personal and commercial lines.

After graduating Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Individual and Family Studies in 1981, she joined Aetna Casualty and Surety Company where she served as Claims Adjuster, Claims Manager, and Regional Recovery Center Director up until 1990.

From 1990 -1996 she served as Regional Director for Structured Benefits, Inc. followed by serving Ringler Associates as Structured Annuity Specialist from 1996-1998. From 1998-2002, Diane served as Vice President, Annuity Broker for Financial Settlement Services until joining SFA.

Diane earned her Charter Property Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU) in 1995, Associate In Claims (AIC) in 1995 as well and her Certified Structured Settlement Consultant designation from University of Notre Dame in 2000 and is a Professional Member of NSSTA, Diane is also a professional charter member of the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals (NAMSAP) and serves as a CEU sponsor for the Dallas area.

Outside of business, Diane enjoys photography, gardening, and travel and is active in community outreach and church activities. Dennis Sarni

Dennis Sarni, J.D.,  is one of the earliest members of Structured Financial Associates and has been a Director since 1990. For more than 35 years, Dennis has worked on several thousand workers compensation and personal injury cases and has assisted defendants and their insurers in quantifying economic damages and resolving their claims. He has been actively involved in this country’s most notorious litigation including food contamination, pipeline and gas explosion, and clergy abuse cases. 

After earning his B.A. in economics from Boston University, Mr. Sarni received his J.D. from Lincoln University Law School in San Francisco. In 1979, he joined Litigation Support Corporation as vice president where he provided assistance to defendants and insurers on analysis of future special damages and structured settlements. From 1986 through 1988, he was Western Regional Vice President of Merrill Lynch Settlement Services where he focused on creative uses of settlement annuities to mitigate defendant’s exposure.

Mr. Sarni has discussed structured settlements on various news programs including the CBS Morning News, CNN, and the Financial News Network. He has authored numerous articles in legal and insurance journals including The Wall Street Journal. He has spoken before the American Trial Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, and Risk and Insurance Management Society. He is a frequent lecturer on spinal cord injury and is a past member of the Board of Directors for the National Spinal Cord Injury Association. He is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association where he presently sits on the Education Committee and was formerly the chairman. He is a certified mediator by the Straus Institute at Pepperdine Law School.

Donald Suss

Donald B. Suss, J.D., is a structured settlement consultant for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. (SFA) and manager of the company’s Exton, PA office. Don is a founding member of SFA.

Don has practiced as a litigation attorney since 1977 and has been a structured settlement consultant since 1983. He is a member of National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and chairman of the NSSTA PAC Board of Directors (2011-2012). He has been a faculty member for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI), the Chester County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Worker’s Compensation Bench. Don is co-author of the PBI manual section entitled, “Guardianships, Trusts, Structured Settlements and Taxes–Settling the Substandard Personal Injury Case.”

Don specializes in the resolution of complex workers’ compensation claims, both at the primary and excess layers. He participates directly in the negotiation and mediation of claims, including the funding of the Medicare Set-Aside allocation.

Jeffrey F. Swigart, J.D., is a vice president and structured settlement specialist for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. (SFA).  He is a founding member of SFA and serves as a Director of SFA.

Jeff provides expertise in all types of liability cases including claims arising from losses in personal and commercial lines, in uninsured and underinsured motor vehicle matters, and in products and malpractice litigation.  He also specializes in the resolution of complex workers' compensation cases, at both the primary and excess layers in more than 30 states.  He participates in the negotiation and mediation of all types of claims.  He assists in the resolution of issues involving Medicare, including funding of Medicare Set-Aside allocations.  He is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association and serves as a panelist in structured settlement training programs for both liability and workers' compensation cases.

Jeff graduated with honors from Swarthmore College where he received his B.A. He earned a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.  Jeff is a licensed attorney and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar.  He served as a director of an insurance holding company and two mutual insurance companies for 21 years.

A sports enthusiast, Jeff enjoys attending sporting events with his wife, Trish, and participating in numerous outdoor activities, paticularly skiing with his two daughters, Alison and Kelly. Alison, a graduate of Williams College and the University of Rochester Medical School, is completing her residency in psychiatry at Brown University. Laura Syfers Haupt

Laura Syfers Haupt, CSSC, is a Structured Settlement Specialist in SFA’s Orange County office in Irvine, California.  She has over twenty years of experience in the Structured Settlement industry. Laura has a strong background working with claims in commercial liability, medical malpractice, negligence, and has begun to distinguish herself in Workers’ Compensation claims with several large insurers.

Mrs Haupt travels extensively to meet with and educate plaintiffs and their families in order to guide them through the structured settlement process. She works with all parties involved in the structured settlement and attends mediations across the country.

Mrs. Haupt is an active member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and is currently on the NSSTA Marketing Committee. Laura received her Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the NSSTA in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame Executive Education Department.

Anton Tewes

Anton Tewes (Tony), CLU, ChFC, LIC, is on Structured Financial Associates' Board of Directors and manages the Company's Michigan and Ohio offices.

A graduate of Cornell University, Tony has 35 years experience in life underwriting and financial planning as well as 30 years in the Structured Settlement industry.

In 1970, Tony founded Edgemont Securities, an NASD Broker/Dealer, which specialized in underwriting tax favored investments, serving as its CEO and President. Following the sale of Edgemont Securities, Tony formed Tewes Financial Services, a firm that served small and medium sized business entities regarding their fringe benefits and retirement planning.  In 1985, Tony joined up with the other founding members to launch Structured Financial Associates, Inc. and ultimately served as its CEO and Chairman from 2000 to 2005.

An avid outdoorsman, Tony is also active in community and church affairs and has served on many of their respective Boards. Tony resides in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan with his wife, Nancy.  They have four children of which two (Jennifer Blanzy and Cynthia Tewes) are partners with him in the Structured Settlement business.

Cynthia Tewes

Cynthia K. Tewes, MBA, CSSC, CMSP is a structured settlement consultant for Structured Financial Associates, Inc, with the company’s Metro-Detroit office.  She is an owner of this office.

Cynthia has over 20 years experience in life and health insurance and structured settlements, specializing in Worker’s Compensation claims and Medicare Set Aside Trusts.  In addition to being a long-standing member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, Cynthia served on their Board of Directors for 3 years.  She is also a member of the Michigan Self-Insurers Association and the National Alliance for Medicare Set-Aside Professionals.

Cynthia holds a BFA degree in advertising/marketing from the Center for Creative Studies (1991) and an M.B.A. in international finance from Lawrence University (1997).  She also earned her Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the National Structured Settlement Trade Association in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame Executive Education Department (1998) and she obtained her CMSP certification in 2012.

Karl Tewes is a Structured Settlement Consultant for Structured Financial Associates, Inc. with the Metro-Detroit office.

Karl has been in the Financial Planning and Insurance industry for over 25 years.

Iliana Valtchanova

Iliana Valtchanova is a Structured Settlement Consultant with fifteen years of excellent experience specializing in general liability, medical malpractice, commercial liability and workers' compensation claims, as well as employment cases involving wrongful termination and discrimination.

Iliana's responsibilities include attending settlement conferences and mediations designed to resolve claims. She regulary meets with clients, attorneys and injured parties to review information and produce structured settlement plans that are meaningful to the settlement negotiations. In addition, she provides structured settlement trainings, performs file reviews and participates in seminars regarding the use and befits of structured settlements. As part of this process, Iliana analyzes life care plans, projects future loss of earnings, assists attorneys with Internal Revenue Code guidelines and life insurance ratings. Iliana also oversees all structured settlement procedures including the review of settlement documents, as well as all functions necessary to conclude settlements. Iliana is dedicated to providing individuals and families with the professional attention necessary to help them achieve comprehensive settlement plans to establish a solid post-settlement financial foundation. Iliana also has experience helping clients protect eligibility for governmental benefits and resolving cases that involve the Medicare Sencondary Payer statue.

Iliana holds life, health and disability licenses in multiple states.

Iliana is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association and holds a Bachelor's degree from Saint Peter's University. She is married and has a son and a daughter.

Elsa Vernon

Elsa is a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant, a Fellow of the Life Management Institute, and has 28 years’ experience in the Structured Settlement Industry. She resides in Northeast Ohio and works with a wide range of clients throughout the Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic Regions.

She began her structured settlement career in 1987 as an Annuity Specialist and Compliance Manager in the Structured Settlement Department of Reliance Life Companies, and spent 8 years working in the Philadelphia area with Benefit Designs Inc. of Cincinnati. Before coming to Structured Financial Associates she served 17 years as a Senior Producer with Galaher Settlements and Insurance Services, Inc.

Elsa has extensive expertise in liability and worker’s compensation claims, as well as NY 50-B and NY Kaiser formula analyses. She works directly with claims handlers, attorneys and self-insured entities in utilizing structured settlements to enhance negotiations and provide an individualized financial outcome for claimants.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy along with post graduate work in business administration from Arcadia University. Elsa received her Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the National Structured Settlement Trade Association through the University of Notre Dame. She is an active member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association.

Elsa is an active member of the Arcadia University Alumni Association. She has 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren.

Marianne Vivona

Marianne Vivona, is a Structured Settlement Consultant in our Seattle office. She has over 30 years of experience as a structured settlement broker assisting clients and injury victims in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and the UK. Aside from general liability claims, her specialties are in the fields of Medical Malpractice, Aviation, and Maritime claims. 

Marianne began her career in liability and healthcare claims. She has participated in over 1000 mediations across the country, conducted training seminars, and served as an expert witness in a variety of cases. Marianne has served on the boards of NSSTA PAC, the Washington HealthCare Risk Management Society and The Northwest Aviation Insurance Association. 

Marianne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego (1978) and earned the designation of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant from the National Structured Settlement Trade Association in cooperation with Notre Dame University’s Executive Education Department in 1995.

Chris Walters

Chris Walters is a Settlement Consultant in Charleston, WV. With five years experience in the Structured Settlement field, he has extensive experience in the areas of Personal Injury litigation settlements, Workers Compensation and MSAs, Trusts (including Special Needs, Revisionary, and Spendthrift), 468B QSFs, Attorney’s Fee Structures, structuring Non-Qualified monies, Bad faith treatment and Structures, and International Structures (with Claimants based both domestically and abroad). 

Chris has lived and worked in two foreign countries. First, Chris was a student in France where he attained a fluency in the language. Second, Chris studied at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland. His class area of focus was competitive economics, and Polish culture. During his studies Chris held a full time job at The British-Polish Chamber of Commerce, where he was responsible for marketing and communications between the Economic Development Cabinet of the Polish Government, and Corporations looking to relocate to Poland.     

He attended Fork Union Military Academy, and graduated from The Linsly School. For College Chris then attended West Virginia University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in International Business. While at West Virginia University he created a weekly newspaper that was distributed to the campus. With only a $750.00 grant, he built and grew his paper to become Morgantown’s only full color weekly news, economic and political journal. His newspaper had a staff of 30 individuals, a production of 10,000 copies and a distribution of 275 locations when he sold the publication in 2010.  

He holds his Life and Health Insurance license and is also a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of West Virginia.

Ronald Walters

Ronald N. Walters, is a structured settlement specialist and manages Structured Financial Associates, Inc.'s Charleston, West Virginia office.

Ron has over 35 years experience in the insurance and financial services industry including 22 years as a structured settlement specialist with Ringler Associates, Inc. and most recently with Diversified Settlements, Inc.  Ron joined SFA in 2000.

His structured settlement practice includes medical malpractice, bodily injury, workers' compensation for self-insureds, and non-qualified settlements for wrongful termination, divorce and wrongful imprisonment. Ron has developed expertise in the use of special needs and other settlement trusts including multiple claimant 468(B) trusts as well as environmental claims settlements. He has been a guest speaker for many associations including ATLA, West Virginia Life Underwriters, and the State's Bar, Manufacturers, Medical, and Personnel Directors' associations. Ron is also a member of the West Virginia Professional Independent Insurance Agents Association.

Ron is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BS Economics) and holds a Masters degree in Medical Economics from the Michigan School of Economics and continued studies in economics at Stanford University, Willets Institute of Finance and University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.  Ron is at the end of his ninth term as a member of the West Virginia Legislature and serves as minority Chair of Banking and Insurance, Finance and Veterans Affairs and was just recently appointed to the Blue Ribbon Committee on Highways in West Virginia.

Ron and his wife Debra have three children; Michael, Ron, Jr. and Christopher and reside in Charleston. Ron is active in his local community and his activities include serving on his Church's Council, the Charleston Chamber of Commerce, Midget Football League Board, and Boy Scout Troops #77 and #188. He is also a member of the West Virginia Head Injury Foundation Board.

Cyril White

Cyril S. White, MBA, CFP, CDFA, CSSC, has over 15 years of experience helping clients achieve financial goals and has focused on using structured settlements to help resolve injury claims for over six years.

Prior to founding his own firm White House Financial & Settlement Consulting, LLC in 2001, Cyril served as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch & Co. and an Investment Banking Associate with River Capital Markets, LLC.

He received a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Physics (BSE) from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and Finance from the University of Chicago.

He is a Certified Financial Planner™ and received his designation as a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) from the National Structured Settlement Association (NSSTA) in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame Executive Education Department. Cyril also holds Series 7, 63 and 66 securities licenses as well as Life, Health and Variable Annuity insurance licenses.

Terry Wilkes

Terry Wilkes was the first female associate of SFA and specializes in workers compensation claims. Since 1985, Ms. Wilkes has assisted clients in quantifying economic loss and resolving claims with structured settlements.  

Before joining SFA, Ms. Wilkes was formerly an Assistant Vice President with Merrill Lynch Settlement Services. She was instrumental in assisting Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in implementing a revolutionary program of in-house structured settlements in conjunction with using a select few independent structured settlement providers. She assisted in training senior Fireman's Fund adjusters throughout the country in the use and negotiation of structured settlements. She is the sole provider of structured settlement services for the workers compensation division of AmTrust in California and routinely provides training to their adjusters.

Ms. Wilkes was formerly with the law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown, & Enerson in San Francisco as a Senior Paralegal for 8 years in the products liability and maritime sections. At McCutchen, Ms. Wilkes assisted in coordinating the Western Regional Brake Cases for an automobile manufacturer.  

She is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, a former president of the San Francisco Marine Claims Association, and is a member of the San Francisco Casualty Claims Association.

Garret Wong

arret S. Wong, CLU, ChFC, is a settlement specialist with Structured Financial Associates, Inc., and manages one of the company’s Anchorage offices, having been in the personal injury case arena since 1985. Garret is also a Chartered Financial Consultant designee of the American College and has 19 years of experience in financial planning. Garret has extensive experience in mediation and handling of settlement annuities.

Garret is a member, and past president, of the Anchorage East Rotary Club. He is also the past president of the Alaska Chapter of the Financial Service Professionals, and a past president and member of the Anchorage Estate Planning Council. Garret earned his B.S. degree in Finance from the University of California, Santa Clara, and his master’s degree in Commerce and Legal studies from Gonzaga University.

Jennifer Zaikowski

Jennifer Stewart-Zaikowski, CSSC, is a Structured Settlement Consultant who manages the New York City office of Structured Financial Associates, Inc.  Jennifer specializes in medical malpractice and general liability claims.

Jennifer assists parties at settlement conferences, mediations and negotiations by preparing settlement annuity plans that are specifically designed to help resolve the case.  Jennifer also provides pre-conference services including quoting, life care plan analysis, etc.

Jennifer’s experience coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the various issues faced by the parties in establishing structured settlements, is a valuable asset to her clients and attorneys in resolving cases that vary from traditional structured settlements to non-qualified structured settlements.

Prior to joining the Structured Settlement industry in 2002, Jennifer was a Registered Nurse.  Building upon her medical background, Jennifer then went on to be a Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a Fortune 500 medical corporation.

Jennifer is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA), and received the designation of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) from NSSTA in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame Executive Education Department in November 2004.

Bill Zaikowski

Bill Zaikowski is a Settlement Annuity Specialist, specializing in construction defect and general liability claims in the Structured Settlements industry.

Bill is a graduate of St. Peter's College with a major in Science and Pre-med. He was a science teacher and coach for five years. He then went on to own his own construction company which makes his expertise in the construction defect area invaluable to the industry.
